On Saturday, we went back to Gino’s New York-style pizza in Itaewon so that I could get a bit more info on it to write it up for koreaye.com. We ordered a pizza that was half “Nellie” – fresh mozzarella, fig jam, prosciutto, fresh arugula, and parmesan – and half “Brooklyn’s Best” – tomato sauce, Italian sausage, mozzarella (fresh and aged), red onions, and fresh basil. Both were fabulous and the crust was just as good as last time.
It was a nice day, still cold but sunny, so we headed to Namdaemun Market to wander around. We hadn’t been back there since our first short visit the second week after we arrived, and it definitely deserved another look (or 10). The place was jam-packed, and we had a good time wandering around looking at the items for sale.
Saturday night, I made japchae at home for the first time, and it turned out great, if I do say so myself. 🙂
On Sunday, we went to a little hole-in-the-wall place for lunch, Vertex Chicken. They had the most amazing teriyaki chicken I think I’ve ever had.
After lunch, we met up with a friend to celebrate his birthday at Monster Cupcakes, which had some of the cutest cupcakes I’ve ever seen.
