Nami Island

Last Sunday, we decided to do an all-day tour that left from Myeongdong. We visited the Gangchon Rail Park, Nami Island, and the Garden of Morning Calm. The “tour” part just consisted of rides between locations and tickets being purchased for us; other than that, we were left to our own devices, which was nice. I’m going to do a separate post on each location.

We loved Nami Island. Our driver gave us ferry tickets and told us to come back to the van 3-½ hours later, so we had plenty of time to explore the small touristy island. The ferry ride took about five minutes, and once we landed we were charmed by the artwork and sculptures all over the island and the beautiful tree-lined paths.

I finally got to try hotteok, a delicious pancake with brown sugar inside, available only in the winter.

We also stumbled upon a small museum dedicated to instruments from all over Asia. It was virtually empty and we enjoyed looking at all the different exhibits.
