Nakwon Instrument Arcade

On Saturday, we decided to try a sandwich place in Itaewon that had come highly recommended. Rye Post did indeed have excellent sandwiches and fries – we both had the Philly cheesesteak and it rivaled our favorite place near Ft. Eustis in taste and texture.

Then we headed to the Nakwon Instrument Arcade near Insadong. This is a huge building filled with lots of small instrument shops. We weren’t in the market for anything in particular, but it was fun to wander and look in all the shop windows. Ukuleles seem particularly popular here, as we saw a ton of them. But really you can get anything you need – strings, winds, brass, drums, pianos, guitars, amps, cables…

Since we were near Insadong, we wandered there for a while, bought a lamp that we had seen last time we were there, and ended up at our favorite coffee shop, Jeon’s, before heading home.
