So we finally got around to taking one of those Han River cruises. I have to say, it was pretty bland. Maybe I’ve just been lucky to take some really cool river cruises in my day, like the one we did in Istanbul last summer. But, as always when with family, the company makes any excursion fun. Or at least better. And dusk is a lovely time to see the water, bridges, and skyline. Overall, though, I’d say you don’t need to put a Han River cruise at the top of your Seoul to-do list.
After the cruise, we headed back to Itaewon and then walked down to that side of the Han (the cruise departs from Yeouido island) to view the Banpo Bridge Rainbow Fountain. Again, it was very pretty, but somehow I had been expecting a little more.
I had heard rave reviews of both the Han River cruise and the rainbow fountain bridge, so I think my expectations were set too high. So hopefully, I will prepare you for disappointment with both of these sights, and then you will be pleasantly surprised at their respective loveliness!
