Coming Up for Air

My poor neglected blog!  I do like the discipline of writing regularly, and I miss it when I don’t.

I’m currently in Hilton Head.  We’re playing Fountains of Rome, Capriccio Espagnol, and the Tchaikovsky violin concerto on Sunday afternoon and Monday night.  Then I’m home again and I don’t have to travel for an entire month!  Of course, it figures that my husband has to go away for training for two weeks in the middle of March, boo hiss.

I’m feeling rather proud of myself for keeping up with my workouts on the road.  I’ve gotten at least 4 workouts in every week this year.  Unfortunately, that will change next week when I have my next gum surgery.  I can’t work out for at least a week after the surgery.  Bring on the Vicodin!

I’ve been making good progress on some of my New Year’s resolutions regarding my career.  I’m signed up to do Suzuki training in late June in DC (book 1) and in late July in Pittsburgh (books 2 & 3).  I’m hoping the training will help me build a teaching studio more quickly when we move somewhere new.  As to moving somewhere new, we have no clue when and where that will be.  It’s looking good for us to be in Virginia Beach at least another year, which will give me one more season playing in Savannah and Hilton Head.  After that, who knows?

I haven’t had a chance to really check it out yet, but I’m exploring the site TravelMuse to plan future trips.  I wish they would make an app for the iPad.  I’m enjoying planning Hawaii, but because of several things that are up in the air for Domingos at work, I’m not entirely sure when that trip will be.  Definitely sometime between September of this year and May of 2014!  We’re also toying with the idea of a long weekend in Vegas for my 40th birthday this fall.  So, lots to look forward to!

I’ve pretty much finished our taxes, but I still need to triple-check all the numbers before I e-file.  This is the first time I’ve done them myself since we’ve had the rental property, and it was a little stressful.

Over and out.
